St. John Joseph of the Cross, Franciscan

St. John Joseph of the Cross was a Franciscan friar born in 1654 on the Italian island of Ischia. He devoted his life to prayer, penance, and service to the poor. Known for his deep spirituality and miraculous healings, he was admired for his humility and love of Christ. Canonized in 1839, he is the patron saint of Ischia and is invoked for relief from back pain and nervous disorders.
