Leander of Seville
Saint Leander of Seville (c. 534 - 600 AD) was a Catholic bishop and Doctor of the Church. He was born in Cartagena, Spain and served as the Archbishop of Seville from 579 until his death. Leander was instrumental in the conversion of the Visigothic king Reccared I from Arianism to Catholicism, and presided over the Third Council of Toledo in 589 AD, which formally united the Visigothic Kingdom with the Catholic Church. He was a prolific writer and theologian, and is venerated as the patron saint of students.
