St. Joseph Moscati, Physician of Naples

St. Joseph Moscati (1880-1927) was a devout Catholic physician from Naples, Italy. He dedicated his life to caring for the sick, especially the poor, and is considered a model of Christian medical ethics. Moscati earned a medical degree and practiced in Naples, using his skills to alleviate the suffering of his patients. He was known for his compassion, humility, and deep spirituality, often praying with his patients. Moscati was beatified in 1987 and canonized in 1987 by Pope John Paul II, who praised his heroic virtues and medical expertise. He is the patron saint of physicians, students, and the city of Naples.
