Saint Teresa, of the Andes
Saint Teresa of the Andes was a Chilean Discalced Carmelite nun, born as Juana Fernández Solar in 1900. She entered the Carmelite monastery at the age of 19, inspired by her deep love of Christ and the Carmelite spirituality. Known for her joyful spirit and devotion, she embraced suffering with remarkable faith. She died of illness at age 19 and is honored as the first Chilean saint, canonized in 1993.
