Our Lady of Montserrat

Our Lady of Montserrat is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with the Benedictine abbey on the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain. The famed statue, known as 'La Moreneta' for its dark color, has been venerated since at least the 12th century. She is considered the patroness of Catalonia and an inspirational symbol for the Catalan people. Pilgrims travel to her shrine to seek her intercession and guidance.
