Saint Robert of Molesme
Saint Robert of Molesme was a French abbot and one of the founders of the Cistercian Order in the 11th century. Born around 1028, he became known for his piety, wisdom, and leadership in monastic reform. Discontent with the laxity of monastic life, he led a group of monks to found the Abbey of Cîteaux, which became the birthplace of the Cistercian movement. His example inspired countless monks to pursue a life of prayer, work, and simplicity. He was canonized in 1222 by Pope Honorius III.
