St. Pancras, martyred on the Via Aurelia
St. Pancras was a young Christian martyr who lived in the 4th century. He was born in Phrygia (modern-day Turkey) and was martyred in Rome at the age of 14 during the persecution of Christians under the Roman emperor Diocletian. Pancras steadfastly refused to renounce his Christian faith, and as a result, he was beheaded.
