Saint Matthias
St. Matthias was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He was chosen by the remaining Apostles to replace Judas Iscariot after Judas' betrayal and death. Little is known about Matthias' life, but he is believed to have been a companion of Jesus during his ministry. Matthias is venerated as a saint for his steadfast faith and for his role in continuing the work of the Apostles after Pentecost. He is the patron saint of alcoholics, carpenters, and tailors.
