Brendan of Clonfert

Saint Brendan of Clonfert, known as Brendan the Navigator, was a prominent Irish monastic saint of the 6th century. He is famous for his legendary voyage in search of the 'Isle of the Blessed,' described in the medieval tale 'Navigatio Sancti Brendani.' Brendan founded several monasteries in Ireland, notably Clonfert Abbey. He is regarded as one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. His adventurous spirit made him patron of sailors and travelers.
