Saint William, of Montevergine

Saint William of Montevergine was an Italian abbot and religious founder. He was born in Vercelli and is known for his ascetic life of prayer and penance. William founded the monastery of Montevergine in southern Italy and established a congregation of hermit-monks there. He is venerated for his commitment to monastic reform and spiritual discipline.
