Saint Herman Joseph, priest and mystic
Saint Herman Joseph was a Premonstratensian priest and mystic, renowned for his deep devotion to the Virgin Mary. Born in Cologne, Germany, around 1150, he entered the monastery as a youth and lived a life of humility and contemplation. He is famous for his visions of Christ and Mary, and for composing spiritual poems. He died around 1241 in Steinfeld Abbey, and his gentle piety led to his veneration as a saint.
