St. Germain, Bishop of Paris

St. Germain, also known as St. Germanus, was a 6th-century bishop of Paris. Born around 496 AD in Autun, France, he was known for his holiness, humility, and charitable works. As bishop, he fought against the spread of Arianism and worked to reform the clergy. St. Germain is venerated for his piety, his miracles, and his efforts to defend the Catholic faith. He is the patron saint of the city of Paris and is invoked for protection against famine and sudden death.
