St. Ursula Ledóchowska, Foundress of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus
St. Ursula Ledóchowska (1865-1939) was a Polish Catholic nun and the foundress of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. Born in Austria, she dedicated her life to serving the poor and educating children. Ursula established numerous schools and orphanages throughout Europe, providing education and care to those in need. She was known for her deep devotion to the Passion of Christ and her compassion for the suffering. Ursula was beatified in 1993 and canonized in 2003. She is the patron saint of Polish schoolchildren and is venerated for her work in promoting Catholic education.
