Saint Maximus, martyr of Rome
Saint Maximus, martyr of Rome, was a devoted Christian who suffered martyrdom during the persecutions under Emperor Valerian in the 3rd century. He was known for his great faith and courage in refusing to renounce his Christian beliefs despite threats of torture and death. Arrested for his faith, he steadfastly confessed Christ and was put to death. His steadfastness inspired other Christians in Rome.
