Manuel

Manuel

Saint Manuel is honored as one of the Martyrs of Córdoba, a group of Christian martyrs who were executed in the 9th century in Al-Andalus, present-day Spain. Along with his brothers Sabel and Ismael, Manuel refused to renounce his Christian faith under Islamic rule and was martyred in 852. They are commemorated for their courage and steadfastness in the face of persecution. Their witness is remembered especially in Spain and Portugal. Their memory inspires many to remain faithful during trials.
