St. Antony M. Zaccaria, priest, Founder of the Barnabitis

St. Antony M. Zaccaria was an Italian priest and the founder of the Barnabites, a Roman Catholic religious order. Born in 1502 in Cremona, Italy, he dedicated his life to preaching, teaching, and caring for the sick. Zaccaria established the Barnabites in 1530, with the goal of reforming the clergy and providing education and spiritual guidance to the people. He was known for his deep devotion to the Eucharist and the Virgin Mary. Zaccaria passed away in 1539 at the age of 36. He is venerated as a patron saint of physicians, the sick, and those suffering from spiritual distress.
