Saint Zoe of Rome
Saint Zoe of Rome was a noblewoman and early Christian martyr who lived during the persecution under Emperor Diocletian. She was married to Nicostratus, a high-ranking Roman official. After being converted to Christianity by Saint Sebastian, Zoe was arrested for her faith, having been discovered praying at the tombs of apostles. She endured torture and was martyred by being hung from a tree by her hair and suffocated by smoke. Her steadfast faith has inspired Christians through the centuries.
