Elijah
St. Elijah, also known as Elias, was a prominent prophet in the Old Testament who lived around the 9th century BC. He is venerated for his fearless defense of the one true God and his miracles, including the raising of the dead, the multiplication of food, and calling down fire from heaven. Elijah is remembered for his confrontation with the pagan prophets of Baal and his dramatic ascension to heaven in a whirlwind. He is the patron saint of many causes, including the clergy, religious orders, and those who work with fire.
