Saint Margaret
Saint Margaret of Antioch is a virgin martyr of the early Church, venerated since at least the 5th century. She is known for her steadfast faith during persecution under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, refusing to renounce Christianity despite torture and imprisonment. According to legend, she survived being swallowed by Satan in the form of a dragon, escaping unharmed. Saint Margaret is a patroness of expectant mothers and is invoked for safe childbirth. Her story has inspired devotion across Europe and beyond.
