St. Bridget, also known as Birgitta of Sweden, was a prominent 14th-century mystic and saint. Born around 1303 in Uppland, Sweden, she founded the Bridgettine Order and made significant contributions to the Catholic Church. Bridget experienced numerous divine visions and revelations, which she recorded in her writings. She was a influential advocate for Church reforms and helped establish the Papal See in Rome. Bridget was canonized in 1391 and is the patron saint of Europe, widows, and pilgrims.
