Clare of Assisi
St. Clare of Assisi (1194-1253) was a Catholic saint and the foundress of the Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares. Born into a wealthy Italian family, she renounced her possessions to follow the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, establishing a religious order dedicated to a life of poverty, prayer, and service. Known for her piety and compassion, St. Clare is venerated as the patron saint of television, embroiderers, and those suffering from eye diseases.
