Bertrand of Garrigues
Bertrand of Garrigues was a French Dominican priest and one of the first companions of Saint Dominic. He played a significant role in the foundation and spread of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) during the early 13th century. Bertrand was known for his piety, zeal for preaching, and devotion to the religious life. He served as prior of several Dominican communities and worked to promote reform and spiritual vitality. Bertrand died in 1230 and is venerated as Blessed in the Catholic Church.
