St. John Chrysostom, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
St. John Chrysostom (c. 347-407 AD) was a prominent Archbishop of Constantinople and an influential Early Church Father. Born in Antioch, he was renowned for his eloquent preaching, earning him the surname "Chrysostom" (Greek for "golden-mouthed"). As Bishop, he fearlessly denounced corruption and spoke out against the mistreatment of the poor. He is venerated as a Doctor of the Church for his theological writings and his impact on Christian spirituality. St. John Chrysostom is the patron saint of preachers, orators, and Constantinople.
