Saint Ariadne of Phrygia
Saint Ariadne of Phrygia was a Christian martyr of the early Church, likely in the late 2nd or early 3rd century. She was a slave in Phrygia (in modern-day Turkey) and steadfastly refused to participate in pagan rites, remaining faithful to Christ. Persecuted and chased by her captors, she prayed to God, and it is said a miraculous opening appeared in a rock, providing her refuge. She died a martyr, and her story has been commemorated in the Martyrology.
