Hildegard of Bingen
St. Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) was a German Benedictine abbess, philosopher, composer, and visionary. Born in the Rhineland, she experienced religious visions from a young age. As an adult, she founded the monasteries of Rupertsberg and Eibingen, and became a renowned healer, theologian, and political advisor. Hildegard is venerated for her mystical writings, influential music compositions, and advocacy for women's spiritual leadership. She is the patron saint of artists, writers, and musicians.
