Saint Ludmila
Saint Ludmila was a Czech noblewoman born around 860 and is venerated as one of the first Christian martyrs of Bohemia. She was the grandmother of Saint Wenceslaus and played a key role in spreading Christianity in the region. Ludmila was murdered in 921 due to dynastic disputes and her influence over her grandson. She is honored as a patroness of Bohemia and her legacy endures as a model of faith and charity.
