Saint Cornelius
Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian were two influential figures in the early Christian Church. Cornelius was the 21st Pope, serving from 251 to 253 AD, during a time of persecution. Cyprian was the Bishop of Carthage, who died as a martyr in 258 AD. Together, they defended the unity of the Church and upheld the authority of the papacy. Cornelius is venerated for his courage in leading the Church during trying times, while Cyprian is honored for his theological writings and defense of the faith. They are the co-patrons of the Diocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno in Italy.
