Feast day · October 7
Saint Sergius
Saints Sergius and Bacchus were early Christian martyrs who lived in Syria during the 3rd century. They were high-ranking officers in the Roman army who were executed for refusing to renounce their Christian faith. Sergius and Bacchus were subjected to a brutal punishment, being forced to march in women's clothing before being beheaded. They are venerated as patrons of soldiers and are celebrated on October 7th, the date of their martyrdom. Their relics are said to have performed many miracles, and they are considered powerful intercessors for those in the military.
