Alexander Sauli
St. Alexander Sauli (1535-1592) was an Italian Catholic prelate and Bishop of Pavia. Born in Milan, he joined the Barnabite order and became known for his piety, humility, and devotion to the poor. As Bishop of Pavia, he worked tirelessly to reform the clergy and improve the spiritual life of his diocese. He was renowned for his preaching, his acts of charity, and his commitment to Catholic education. St. Alexander Sauli is venerated as a model of pastoral care and a champion of the Counter-Reformation.
