St. Alphonse Rodriguez, Jesuit
St. Alphonse Rodriguez was a Spanish Jesuit lay brother who lived from 1532 to 1617. He was born in Segovia, Spain and spent most of his life working as a porter and doorkeeper at the Jesuit college in Majorca. Despite his humble duties, Alphonse was known for his deep spirituality, humility, and service to others. He was revered for his compassion, patience, and ability to counsel those in need. Alphonse was canonized in 1888 and is the patron saint of Jesuit lay brothers.
