Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, missionary to immigrants
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini was an Italian-born religious sister and the founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She dedicated her life to caring for immigrants, especially Italians, in the United States and other countries. Cabrini established schools, hospitals, and orphanages to serve their spiritual and material needs. She was the first United States citizen to be canonized a saint in the Catholic Church.
