Saint Laurence, archbishop of Dublin
Saint Laurence, archbishop of Dublin, was born in Ireland in 1128. He became abbot of Glendalough before being appointed Archbishop of Dublin in 1162. A promoter of peace, he worked tirelessly to reform the Irish Church, aided the poor, and mediated during the Norman invasions. Renowned for his holiness and charity, he died in 1180 in Normandy.
