St. Vergilius was a bishop of Salzburg, Austria, who lived in the 8th century. He was born around 700 AD and served as the bishop of Salzburg from 745 until his death around 784 AD. During his episcopate, Vergilius made significant contributions to the evangelization of the region, establishing monasteries and churches throughout Salzburg.
