St. Leocadia,Virgin and Martyr

St. Leocadia was a Christian virgin and martyr who lived in Toledo, Spain during the 4th century. She was arrested and imprisoned for her faith during the persecutions of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. While in prison, she is said to have prayed for the church and its leaders. She died from the harsh conditions of her imprisonment and was later venerated as a saint. St. Leocadia is the patron saint of Toledo, Spain and is invoked for protection against storms and lightning.
