Saint Gerald, bishop of Braga
Saint Gerald, bishop of Braga, was born in Cahors, France, and later became a monk at Moissac Abbey. He was appointed Archbishop of Braga in Portugal in the late 11th century. Known for his holiness, learning, and reforming zeal, he worked to restore ecclesiastical discipline and rejuvenated the liturgy in his diocese. Gerald died in 1109 and is venerated for his devotion and leadership.
