Adam

Adam

Adam is recognized in Catholic tradition as the first man, created by God, according to the Book of Genesis. He, together with Eve, the first woman, lived in the Garden of Eden and is part of the foundation of salvation history. Though Adam is not canonized in the usual sense, he is venerated as a righteous patriarch and ancestor of all humanity. In the Roman Martyrology, he is listed among the holy patriarchs.
