Jesse
Jesse is known in the Bible as the father of King David, and is honored as an ancestor of Jesus Christ. He is venerated in the Roman Martyrology as one of the righteous of the Old Testament. Although not canonized in the traditional sense, Jesse's lineage is emphasized in Christian tradition due to its messianic significance. His name is often mentioned in Advent liturgies, particularly in reference to the 'Root of Jesse'. Jesse represents the hope and fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel.
