Caspar

Caspar

Saint Caspar, also known as Gaspar or one of the Magi, is venerated as one of the Three Wise Men who visited the infant Jesus after his birth. According to tradition, he brought the gift of frankincense to the Christ Child. While the Bible does not provide their names, Christian tradition since the Middle Ages has assigned the name Caspar to one of them. He is often depicted as a king from India or Arabia. Caspar is regarded as a model of faith among those who seek Christ.
