Saint Valerius of Zaragoza

Saint Valerius of Zaragoza was a bishop who served in Zaragoza, Spain during the late third and early fourth century. He is best remembered for his zealous leadership and for defending the Christian community during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. Saint Valerius was eventually exiled and spent his final years in solitude. He is venerated as the principal patron of Zaragoza, with his relics honored by the faithful.
