Claudine Thévenet
Claudine Thévenet was a French Catholic saint who founded the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary. Born in Lyon in 1774, she witnessed the violence of the French Revolution and dedicated her life to educating impoverished girls and caring for the poor. Thévenet overcame many personal tragedies with a spirit of forgiveness and charity. She died in 1837 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1993.
