Saint Silvanus of Emesa
Saint Silvanus of Emesa was a Christian martyr who suffered and died for his faith in the early 4th century. He served as a bishop in Emesa, in present-day Syria. During the persecutions ordered by Emperor Diocletian, Silvanus remained steadfast and encouraged Christians to remain faithful. After enduring many hardships and torture, he was executed for refusing to renounce Christianity. He is venerated as a model of perseverance, leadership, and courage in the face of persecution.
