Sts. Faustinus and Jovita, Martyrs
Sts. Faustinus and Jovita were brothers who lived in the early 2nd century in Brescia, Italy. They were early Christian martyrs who suffered persecution and execution under the Roman emperor Hadrian around the year 121 AD. They refused to renounce their faith and courageously proclaimed the Gospel, even in the face of torture and death. Faustinus and Jovita are venerated as patrons of Brescia and are invoked for protection against storms and lightning.
