Saint Juliana of Nicomedia
St. Juliana of Nicomedia was a Christian virgin and martyr who lived in the early 4th century. She was born in Nicomedia, Campania, and was the daughter of a prominent pagan official. Juliana refused to renounce her Christian faith and was repeatedly tortured for her beliefs. She was eventually beheaded around the year 304 AD under the orders of the Roman emperor Maximian. Juliana is venerated as a saint for her steadfast faith and her willingness to suffer and die for Christ. She is the patron saint of Campania and is invoked against fever and for the protection of young girls.
