Theodore of Amasea
Theodore of Amasea, also known as Saint Theodore the Recruit, was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr of the early 4th century. He is venerated as a great military saint in both Eastern and Western Christian traditions. Theodore was known for his courage and steadfastness in faith, refusing to renounce Christianity in the face of persecution. He was martyred by fire around the year 306 in Amasea (in modern-day Turkey).
