Saint Simeon, bishop of Jerusalem
Saint Simeon, bishop of Jerusalem, was the second Bishop of Jerusalem after Saint James the Less. He guided the Christian community in Jerusalem amid intense persecution during the late first and early second centuries. Simeon is believed to have been a relative of Jesus, possibly a cousin or a close kin. He was martyred under the reign of Emperor Trajan, around the year 107. His steadfast faith and leadership are honored on February 18.
