Saint Flavian, bishop of Constantinople
Saint Flavian, bishop of Constantinople, served as Patriarch in the mid-5th century. He is renowned for his strong opposition to the heresy of Eutyches, defending orthodox Christological doctrine at the Synod of Constantinople. For his stand, he suffered persecution and was exiled by Emperor Theodosius II. He died from injuries sustained due to the violence inflicted upon him. Saint Flavian is venerated as a confessor and martyr for the faith.
