Conrad of Piacenza
Conrad of Piacenza was a 13th-century Italian nobleman who became a hermit and Franciscan tertiary after a dramatic conversion experience. He gave up his wealth to devote his life to penance, prayer, and charity. Renowned for his miracles and compassion, Conrad spent many years in Sicily, living in solitude and helping those in need. He is especially venerated as a patron saint of herdsmen and sick people.
