Saint Frances of Rome was an Italian noblewoman who founded the Olivetan Oblates of Mary. She was renowned for her charity, mystical experiences, and devotion to the poor, especially during plagues in Rome. Frances balanced her duties as a wife and mother with a profound spiritual life. She is venerated as the patron saint of motorists and Roman women. She was canonized in 1608 by Pope Paul V.
