Saint Edward, king and martyr

Saint Edward, king and martyr, was King of England from 975 until his untimely death in 978. He was the eldest son of King Edgar and became king as a young teenager. His reign was brief and turbulent, marked by political conflict and intrigue. Edward was murdered at Corfe Castle, and he was quickly revered as a martyr due to his piety and innocence.
