St. Rupert,Bishop of Salzburg
St. Rupert, also known as Hrodbert or Robert, was a Frankish bishop who lived in the late 7th and early 8th centuries. He was born in Worms, Germany, and served as the Bishop of Salzburg from around 696 until his death around 718. Rupert is credited with converting the Bavarian people to Christianity and establishing the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter in Salzburg. He is venerated as the patron saint of Salzburg and is known for his work in evangelizing the region.
